Rebellion and fall (the angels), God's judgment (tohu wa bohu)
This is war friends (Job 26:13)
Before we move on with the days, we must review what happened that caused this disorder in God's creation. We must first look at Ezekiel 28, and read about Lucifer who was an archangel,
If we read Ezekiel 28:11-20, it is clear from the text that he was a beautiful creature, but the problem with that was that he thought so too. And from that came pride. We get a little insight into Revelation, where it says that a third of all stars fell to the earth. Since the book of Revelation is an Old Testament book, we must look at the Old Testament here to understand what these stars are. It says somewhere in the OT that the stars came to Israel's aid from heaven, i.e., these stars are angels.
Lucifer persuaded a third of all the angels to rebel with him and attack God's throne. It says "with all his trade", meaning he probably made agreements with other angels to make him their leader. Therefore it BECAME tohu wa bohu, waste and empty. But let's look a little more at this word: waste and empty.
Jer 4,23-26
23 I looked at the earth, and behold, it was waste and empty, and the heavens, and their light was gone; 24 I looked at the mountains, and behold, they trembled, and all the hills trembled; 25 I looked, and behold, there was no man, and all the birds of the air had fled; 26 I looked, and behold, the fruitful field was a wilderness, and all its cities were laid waste before the Lord, because of his fierce anger.
This passage speaks of the same event as in Genesis 1, which even says that there was no man because of this fierce anger. If we read Ezekiel 28 19 it also says that there were people when Lucifer was cast down to the earth in judgment.
Ezekiel 28.19
All the nations that knew you were terrified because of you; you became a terror, and you are gone forever.
We hear more about this judgment in the following verse:
Isaiah 14:12
No, you are fallen from heaven; you bright morning star, you are cut down and thrown to the earth, you who subdue the nations!
Read the word again: “subdue the nations”.
So there were people, but they lived under different conditions than we do today. I will go into more detail about this in an article about how God could judge so harshly.
But listen, weren'’'t Adam and Eve the first people? No, and yes, no as in the history of the earth, yes, as in the salvation story that God wants to tell from Adam and Eve to the end times.
The earth has a history that I will go into later.
But let's look at what Job says about the same event.
Job 26:13
by his spirit the heavens cleared up his hand pierced the fleeing serpent.
It is as if Job continues to paint on what Moses says happened in Genesis 1:2, and hammers a seven-inch nail into what happened, that the Bible has something to say about this.
But with this verse also comes a heading for Genesis 1:2, and it is:
Listen friends, this is war!
There is a red thread through the Bible, many perhaps, but this thread also runs through the Bible.
To have a couple, a family, a people, a country. All were to reflect God's plan for mankind, and as a banner point to God. But we also know from the New Testament that Israel rejected God's offer of the kingdom, which is why God turned to the Gentiles to make a people of them.
Only when the congregation is complete will Israel again be included in God's further plans.
