Day 4

Genesis 1
14 And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:
15 And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so.
16 And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also.
17 And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth,
18 And to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and God saw that it was good.
19 And the evening and the morning were the fourth day.

When you look at the words used in the original text, it is clear that this is not a matter of creation out of nothing, since that is not the word used, but perhaps more of an insertion into a specific context that the earth is to belong to, for the determination of day and night, for signs and the establishment of feasts, days and years.

The sun and moon were created in the beginning, since the heavens and the earth are the completed, the finished product, the fully functional.

When we look at the sun and moon, that they were to separate day from night, it is not the same as what is spoken of on day 1, where light and darkness were to be separated from each other. Even though light was called day, and darkness was called night on that day.

It is also as if when the plants were to appear on day 3, it forces in a way an interpretation of the days as 24 hours.

The prophetic in this day

The sun is to rule during the day, the moon during the night.

Does it not say that we must work while it is still day? And the night is coming when no one (of us) can work (John 9:4)?

The sun is a type of the church, the great light, and Israel is a type of the moon, because they must work while it is night over all the earth (Jacob's trouble).

It also says that the lights are to separate day from night, meaning the sun is not to shine at night when the moon is to do its work.

If this is not a type of separation with the church from the time of trouble, then I don't know what is.
