Day 6

Genesis 1.26
And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

An image will always be an image of the one who created it, it will be the actual thing, containing elements, thoughts of the one who created it.

The idea behind the creation of man is to show some thoughts about the Creator, given an insight into who is behind it, what he is like.

In this image there are some fixed elements, some pillars, something that everyone can recognize.

1st pillar: Faith. Every person must have something to believe in, it must be what carries one's life, whether one believes in one thing or the other, then man needs to believe in something.

2nd pillar: Hope. Hope is the small, quiet voice that says that everything will be alright.

God can be found in the three pillars, and is thus a testimony of God's autograph.

We therefore have the testimony within us that God exists, because it is such a fundamental part of us that we cannot get rid of it.

Our longing for faith, hope and love only has its full fulfillment in Him who gave birth to these pillars within us, and as the Creator of us and our souls, He knows every nook and cranny of us, and can therefore also touch us deeply in our hearts, because He knows us and the thought for which we were created.

God must be able to give me a faith, a faith that has its origin in Him and that I can experience, as coming from God.

People have a longing to know by faith to experience, to know for sure that something is right, that one can trust what one believes, and this need can only be given by God.

Hope, here we are back to God again, for who else but God knows whether anything is useful, whether all ways out have been tried, whether all ways forward have been looked for?

Hope is reaching out for something that is greater than what I am experiencing right now, but it is faith that makes me grab hold of it.

3rd pillar: Love. Our whole being yearns for this, it is deep within us, like a pillar that supports the whole house.

Faith, hope and love are all things that give meaning to life, but love is the essence of it all, because love believes and hopes as these two could not do by themselves.

For this reason, one must not chase after more faith, but love for God and people, if one wants to see faith effective.
