PUBLISHER'S NOTE
It was Dr. Custance's intention to bring out a second edition, adding much additional material accumulated subsequently pertinent to the historical section. The basic thesis itself remained unchanged.
But because of some very stinging criticism received concerning his treatment of the Hebrew grammar, he felt it necessary to consult Hebraists before reprinting this volume. It was one of those things that never got done....
Due to continued requests after Dr. Custance's death, Doorway Publications determined to make all his writings available. So in deference to his concern, a number of Hebrew scholars were contacted but without response. In the end it was decided to simply re-print the first edition, letting it stand or fall on its own merits, believing that it contains much of value for the seeker after Truth.
Dr. Custance never made any claims for finality: it was his desire only, by opening up fresh views, to contribute light to minds of greater precision who may thus be enabled perhaps to hit upon the exact truth.
